We are working to expand our lineup of eco-friendly products while striving for harmony with the environment.
In the Environmental Business, we work to encourage the use of environmentally friendly biodiesel fuels derived from plant-based oils, and sell recycled heavy oil and carbon offset fuels.
We also supply renewable energy through five solar power plants located throughout Japan, and sell AdBlue®, an environmentally friendly high-grade urea water that reduces the nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted by diesel vehicles.
Over the more than seven decades since our founding, we have seen it as our mission as an energy supplier to deal with environmental issues head-on. To fulfill this mission, we are committed to improving and expanding our lineup of eco-friendly products and helping to shape a carbon neutral society.

Initiatives for next-generation energiesBiodiesel Fuel
Biodiesel fuel differs from petroleum and other fossil fuels because it is made from plant-based oil, making it environmentally friendly. The plants used as the raw materials for bio fuels absorb CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow, which means they don't introduce additional CO2 into the atmosphere.

Recycled heavy oil
We sell recycled heavy oil used as boiler fuel, etc., which is made by recycling waste oils, primarily lubricating oil.

Carbon offset fuels
This package includes carbon credits attached to existing fuel oils (kerosene, diesel, heavy oil). It is possible to offset the CO2 generated during combustion using equivalent credits.

Solar power
Through the Solar Power Business we turn sunlight into renewable electricity. We operate five solar power plants across Japan with a combined output of around 7.9 MW, enough to power 2,144 homes for a year.

AdBlue®
AdBlue® is a high-grade urea water for ammonia-based exhaust gas purification systems installed in diesel engines. It breaks down nitrogen oxides, which cause air pollution, into harmless nitrogen and water.
